  1. Recover Photos from Online Storage:

Even if your phone is not eligible to be listed in the best mobiles of 2019, it is very likely that it still offers you a number of online storage options like the Cloud, Google Photos, OneDrive or Dropbox. Most of these photo apps offer to back up your data in the background for you. Therefore, keeping your best interest in mind, we decided to briefly discuss each of the options in case you overlooked something that may seem fairly obvious after reading this article. Relax, we’ve got your back.

  • The Cloud:

Although you may have deleted the photo(s) from your phone’s gallery, your cloud backup will still most likely have it for you. All you have to do to recover it is to log on to your cloud app and download it once more. Even if you deleted it from your cloud backup, it can still be recovered as most cloud services use a recycle bin that allows you to restore any files within a specified period of time.

  • Google Photos:

This is an app that allows you to store and backup your data online. Thus, if you find yourself to be in the less fortunate position of having deleted your favorite images, you can always bring them back using Google Photos. Just open the app and press Trash or Bin from the sidebar and long-press on each image you want to recover, then hit Restore. You will find your deleted images still available there as long as it is within a 60-day timeframe.

  • Microsoft OneDrive:

This is another of those photo apps that might just come to your aid and save you (and your memories) when your finger may accidentallyslide across that vibrant touchscreen and unintentionally hit delete. All you have to do is open the app and go to Meand then from the list choose Recycle Bin. Select all the files that you need to bring back and tap the Restore icon. You will find that OneDrive will keep your deleted images for up to 30 days only. However, it may delete them sooner if the size of your recycle bin is greater than the 10 percent of storage you are offered.

  • Dropbox:

This is a photo app that is not just limited to the best mobiles of 2019 but instead has been with us for years now. However, one of its limitations might include the fact that one cannot recover the lost photos from the app in one’s mobile, they must open the app in their desktop for it. Once you have it opened on your computer, all you must do is choose the Files option and then click the Deleted Files. Then simply select the images you want to restore. Dropbox will keep your deleted files saved for you for a period of 30 days only.

  1. Recover Photos From Your SD Card:

What if you are not amongst those who like their photos backed up online? All may still not be lost for you if you saved them on your mobile’s SD card. You can connect your SD card to your desktop computer and use special recovery software such as EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard or the likes, in order to attempt to recover your pictures. However, unfortunately there are no guarantees for this. Also, deleted files are only recoverable from your SD card as long as they have not been overwritten by new files. Therefore, you must remove the SD card from your phone as soon as you realize you have unwittingly deleted some important photos in order to minimize the risk of them being overwritten.

Simply install and run EaseUS on your desktop, select the memory card and click Scan. Then select Type in the panel on the left and click the arrow for the drop-down menu next to Graphics whilst choosing your desired image format. After selecting the images you want to bring back, click Recover Now and choose a location on your system to save your pictures. They will beexportedand saved in their own folder and now you can simply copy them back to your phone.

  1. Recover Photos on a Rooted Phone:

This is where things might get a little tricky. If you belong to that small and rather unlucky group of people who, when the calamity strikes, discover to their great distress that they did not have their photos backed up online nor saved them on an SD card, then fear not. We have something that might just brighten up your day.

Install the app DiskDigger Photo Recovery, launch it and grant root permissions when prompted. You will be given the choice between a Basic Scan and a Full Scan, we advise you to go with the latter option. Find your phone’s internal storage then choose the image format you want to search for. Tap OK to begin. Click the Settings icon and customize search filters from file size to the date and time when the photos were taken. However, one of the cons of DiskDigger is the fact that it may not successfully recover every deleted image as some may be corrupted in the process. Therefore, when you do come across the ones you want to bring back, select them and click Recover. Choose the destination folder and let the recovery begin.

A Word of Advice:

We strongly advise you to backup your data, either online in the form of the above mentioned apps or on a very readily available SD card. However, seeing as even some of the best mobiles in Pakistan 2019 do not offer external storage, we firmly recommend backing up your images online. You will find this option to be quick, easy and hassle-free. You can also choose to have your photos backed up online only when your phone is connected to a wifi (hence being effectively cost efficient) and has sufficient battery. As a bonus, you will find that some of these online storage apps also offer basic image editing facilities to cater to your everyday needs.
